Second home

i steer my tongue
through wires connected
to my remote controlling brain

i spit words in a reflex
without thinking
that’s a common thing
and in daily life it works

i wrap words in poetry
that’s when my feelings sing
and bounce so i can play
to connect to who i am
and where i belong

i breath words
in a language you
don’t understand
so now i’m playing
with our words
to find you
to reconnect
to who i am
and where you are
land i used
to call home

i steer my tongue
through wires connected
to memories of belonging
i am yearning
to inhale your air again
and breath our words
into poems
